Seeing change is hard until you zoom in.
At a high level U.S. politics has always had corruption, has never lacked those whom abuse power, and has always pursued shameful actions abroad. Compare two presidencies and any two people can defend their camp. Bad things over many years are plentiful.
With the current presidency, I was interested in whether I was engaged in that myself. I realized that an easy way to see the shift honestly was to choose a single day or series of days at random, and look at the day's events side by side. That’s a small enough scope that it resists cherry-picking. So I spent a week of evenings building this.
I’ve worked hard here to capture all the presidential and administrative actions that were covered each day. Every page lists at the bottom what was left out and why. I can tell you what I see here, in these comparisons, but I think I’d rather just leave it to you, the user, to look at it yourself and come to your own conclusions.
